Tracey Emin is an artist I have admired ever since I stumbled across her work at the Tate Britain in 2005. Her work reminds you that there is someone out there who perhaps feels things as deeply as you do sometimes. She currently has an exhibit at Lehman Maupin Gallery on the LES, now until December 19th. I plan on checking it out this weekend.

kris van assche is a designer whose work i have followed over the past few years. for his fall/winter 09 lookbook he commissioned italian artist andrea mastrovito to portray his designs in pencil drawings. i love his work and i think they successfully illustrate the feel of kris van assche's designs.

when i saw christian schoeler's water colours i thought to myself, man what would my paintings look like now if i still kept up with them. i guess i liked his watercolor because i manipulate the paint and water in a similar way. i like how different his paintings in oil and watercolour are, and in a way i think they have an elizabeth peyton feel to them. i also am intrigued that his subjects are primarily men/ young boys. more images after the jump.
